Jomar Lanot
(continued)
It has been nearly five years since Jomar was
killed, but Jenna’s pain is still as fresh today, as
it was then. Jenna and her family have not had any closure,
and this is due to the constant reminders that soo many were
involved in her son’s murder, but only one person was
ever convicted of his murder. Muzill Abdullah, 17 at the time
of the crime was charged as an adult, and sentenced to 7 years
in prison. He has now appealed the sentence, and is asking
to be set free earlier. Jenna wants to ensure that this does
not happen, and has reached out to her community for help.
Jenna is asking anyone who was there, who may
have any information as to the others who were involved in
the murder of her son to come forward. There were more than
10 witnesses to this crime, yet no one has come forward to
tell the truth. Jenna knows that Muzill Abdullah is the only
one who can put the others there that night, but he has made
no attempt in speaking to authorities. The Lanot family is
pleading with anyone who may have information, or anyone who
has carried this burden with them for the past few years to
come forward, and allow the family to find some peace.
The Lanot family would like to be able to put
Jomar to rest, as they have held on to his ashes in hopes
of a day when all those involved in his death would be punished.

for the Greenway. This is here for others to remember Jomar,
and how his memory will always remain with the Community.
In the centre of the Greenway sits a boulder,
and on this boulder is a memorial dedicated to Jomar Lanot.
The boulder reads:

And Love is the most powerful force.”
